Finding Strength again in Motherhood: Introducing Fairview’s Strong Moms Club

As moms, we often talk about postpartum recovery in physical terms, but our mental health is deeply intertwined with our matrescence - the enormous hormonal, emotional, physical, social, and identity shifts that happen after having a baby. As many of you know, I’m a big advocate of incorporating movement into your postpartum recovery when you feel the time is right. Getting my body moving vastly improved my mental health postpartum… those happy hormones are legit! And don’t just take my word for it - research continues to show that movement can play a powerful role in postpartum mental health. A recent 2026 review of nearly 4,000 postpartum women found that regular physical activity helped improve symptoms of postpartum depression, anxiety, and overall quality of life. That’s why any time a new class for moms pops up - I have to share. And Westside mamas… this ones for you.

Shamrock Athletics, in Fairview, recently launched their Strong Moms Club, a new mom & baby fitness class designed specifically for pre- and postpartum moms looking to gently reconnect with their bodies, build strength, and prioritize their mental health in a supportive, judgment-free environment. Because beyond the science and data on the benefits of exercise postpartum, there’s something incredibly healing about moving your body alongside other moms who get it. Getting out of the house. Seeing familiar faces. Feeling strong again - even in small ways.

Strong Mom Club coach Meg Redpath, a clinical rehab kinesiologist and personal trainer with 10 years of experience, has shared some words on these workouts:

"Pre and post natal strength training is so important for women's health. Women's body's change immensely during this time in their lives; growing, supporting, and providing for another being. We need to support this change with strength training. I believe in building a strong base, being hips and torso, so that lifting during class and daily activities occur with much more power, energy and ease!"

Strong Moms Club isn’t about “bouncing back” (PSA: nor should any fitness program be). Strength, energy, mental health, & community is where it’s at. And what’s really nice, is that it’s capped at 6 people, eliminating that intimidating gym-vibe that many of us experience.

Classes are on Mondays at 12pm. If interested, you can book online, or fill out the Strong Moms Interest Form and they will reach out to you with the details.
