Travel Alot? Don’t leave without this must-have!

Okay folks, so we’ve been on at least 40 flights with the kids, and have travelled a lot as a family. With summer approaching, if you’re planning on travelling or camping with your little one, I have one recommendation. Grab yourself a Slumberpod. Yes, I’ll admit it’s expensive , and thus definitely a luxury item, but if travel is in your future? 100% worth the investment.

If you’ve ever tried sharing a hotel room with a baby or toddler, you know the unique chaos that is bedtime in one open space. Or you show up to an Airbnb and the curtains are wafer thin… when it’s light out until 10, say goodbye to any sort of evening to yourself. This little black-out miracle has saved vacations, naps, sanity, and possibly marriages.

Originally featured on Shark Tank, The SlumberPod is a portable privacy pod that fits over a travel crib or pack-and-play (& at a stretch, even some full-sized cribs), creating a dark, breathable sleep nook for your little one - no matter where you are. Hotel rooms, grandparents’ guest rooms, Airbnbs, campgrounds, you name it. Your baby gets their own “room,” and you get to avoid the dreaded 7:30 pm silent blackout, a glass of wine in the bathtub (so relaxing!), and tiptoeing around in the dark like a ninja.

It sets up in under 5 minutes (once you’ve done it once, you’ll be a pro) and folds down into a compact travel bag. There’s enough airflow to keep things comfortable, and you can even add a fan or monitor inside with built-in pouches.

What I love most is how it helps with consistency. When everything else is new and overstimulating while traveling, the SlumberPod creates a familiar, calming space for sleep. It can even be a lifesaver for camping. Get those afternoon naps in no-problem, and avoid the 4am wake up when the sun comes up.

Is it a splurge? Yup. But for the sake of better naps and uninterrupted evenings, it’s been worth every penny. In the long run, you will save money on upgrades to hotel suites or extra bedrooms in Airbnbs, and if you’re lucky, you might even find a second hand one on Facebook, like we did. Four years in, ours is still going strong - and honestly, it’s paid for itself in sleep, sanity, and fewer vacation meltdowns (ours and the kids’). Trust us: this thing earns its keep. Happy travelling!
